Break-in, shooting investigation leads to juvenile arrest

The Holly Ridge Police Department (HRPD) has made an arrest after an investigation into multiple cases of vehicle break-ins throughout the town.

HRPD reported an uptick in crime over recent weeks, including firearms and valuables stolen from vehicles, property damage and gunfire.

A juvenile was identified as a suspect in the break-ins as well as a shooting that resulted in an unoccupied mobile home being shot. On Sept.

21, a search was conducted at a home in Holly Ridge, where six firearms, other stolen property, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found.
