Philadelphia police seek suspects in robberies targeting women near Northeast banks

Philadelphia police are searching for at least two men believed to be behind a series of robberies targeting women entering or leaving banks in Northeast Philadelphia.

Detectives said they have linked four robberies over the past six weeks, all occurring in broad daylight between roughly 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The incidents occurred near 6500 Castor Avenue, 2200 Cottman Avenue, 9501 Bustleton Avenue and 2014 Cottman Avenue.

Police said the suspects appeared to target women who had just left banks, while in one case a victim was entering a bank to make a deposit.

Three victims were pushed to the ground and suffered minor injuries. One of the victims was an 80-year-old woman.

Investigators said different vehicles were used during the robberies and at least one was stolen.

Police are asking the public for help identifying the suspects as the investigation continues.
