CANADA: Suspect seen setting car on fire in Ville-Marie

Montreal police have launched an investigation after a car was set on fire early Friday. According to witnesses, a suspect was seen near the vehicle but fled before the arrival of police.

The incident occurred at about 2:30 a.m. in a parking lot on Lespérance St. near Ontario St. in the borough of Ville-Marie. There are were no reported injuries, but the car is considered a total loss, police said.

The remains of the vehicle will be examined later on Friday in order to determine the circumstances leading to the fire.
