Community rallying around family after four killed in deadly stabbing spree in Houma, Louisiana

Four adults were killed, and a young boy was hospitalized in Houma’s deadliest homicide, leaving the community shaken and rallying to support the victims’ family.

The suspect, 47-year-old Kaegan Solet, has been arrested, but the Verret family is now facing unimaginable pain as they process life without their loved ones.

One of the victims was 75-year-old Verna Mae, who leaves behind seven children, 16 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren.

Her family shared that she worked as a baker at Walmart for 20 years and was just two weeks away from celebrating her birthday and retirement.
