Two dead after double shooting in University area, police say

Two people were shot and killed early Sunday morning in University City area, police said. Officers were called to Kittansett Drive around 3 a.m. Sunday, Sept.

13, where they found one person suffering from gunshot wounds.

A second gunshot victim was found less than a mile away near a Cook Out restaurant on North Tryon Street, Both died from their injuries on the scene, medics said.

Investigators were treating the deaths as homicides and working to determine what led to the gunfire and how the two shootings are connected. No suspects have been identified.
