Wisconsin measles outbreak grows to 151 confirmed cases

GRANT, Iowa — MADISON, Wis. () – There have been 151 confirmed and six probable measles cases in an outbreak in Grant, Iowa and Lafayette counties as of Sept.
8, according to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. There have been 159 measles cases total in Wisconsin so far in 2026.
Confirmed cases are cases that have symptoms consistent with measles and have been laboratory confirmed or have a direct link to a confirmed case by location and time.
Probable cases have symptoms consistent with measles but have not been laboratory confirmed or directly linked to a confirmed case. The investigation indicates that measles is spreading locally.
