Suspect Detained after Stabbing Fresno, California County Employee at Courthouse Park, Officials Say

Sheriff’s deputies assigned to the courthouse immediately went outside to give aid to the male victim, identified as a Fresno County employee, and searched for the suspect. The victim was taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment. Deputies say that the victim was awake and talking when transported. His exact condition is unknown.

Fresno County Sheriff John Zanoni said the victim was going about his daily work when the stabbing occurred. Around three minutes after the stabbing, a deputy found the suspect, a man in his 50s, off Van Ness Avenue and Fresno Street, in the northwest corner of the park.
