25-Year-Old Man Shot in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York; Masked Suspects Flee on E-Bike

A 25-year-old man was wounded in a shooting near East 98th Street and Kings Highway in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York, early Thursday, August 20, 2026.

Police responded to the shooting outside 268 East 98th Street shortly before 2:30 a.m. Officers found the victim with a gunshot wound to his left ankle.

Victim taken to Brookdale Hospital

Emergency medical personnel transported the wounded man to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center. He is expected to recover from his injury.

Police have not released the victim’s identity or disclosed what may have led to the shooting.

Two masked men sought

Investigators are searching for two men who were last seen fleeing the area on an e-bike.

Police said both men were wearing all-black clothing and surgical masks when they escaped. No arrests have been announced, and the investigation remains ongoing.
