Multiple Arrests in Miami-Dade Fake Disabled Parking Permit Scheme

Multiple suspects have been arrested in Miami-Dade County, Florida, after authorities uncovered an alleged operation selling fraudulent disabled parking permits.

The arrests were made as part of “Operation Parking Denied,” an investigation involving the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office and federal authorities.

Suspects Accused of Selling Fake Permits

Investigators allege that members of the group sold counterfeit disabled parking placards to people who were not legally entitled to use them.

The permits allow vehicles to park in spaces reserved for people with disabilities, including residents with serious mobility limitations.

Authorities released booking photographs of the suspects following arrests carried out between August 13 and August 17.

Miami-Dade Crackdown Continues

The operation follows a countywide campaign targeting fraudulent and improperly issued disabled parking permits.

Miami-Dade officials previously reviewed tens of thousands of permits and canceled thousands connected to suspected fraud, incomplete applications, deceased individuals and other irregularities.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out additional arrests.
