Radar-Confirmed Tornado Threatens Central Prince George County, Virginia With Flying Debris and Roof Damage

A radar-confirmed tornado is moving south across central Prince George County, Virginia, near Hopewell, with residents urged to take shelter immediately.

The storm is moving at around 20 mph toward Disputanta, while a Tornado Warning remains in effect until 11:15 p.m. EDT.

Authorities warn that flying debris and roof damage are among the main dangers, with the potential for damage to homes, trees, vehicles and power lines.

Residents in the warned area should move to a basement or small interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, away from windows.

People outdoors, in vehicles or in mobile homes should seek substantial shelter immediately.

Conditions can deteriorate rapidly as the tornado moves through the area.
