Nevada Tornado Warning: Radar-Indicated Tornado Threatens Fernley, Silver Springs and Wadsworth

A Tornado Warning is in effect for Fernley, Silver Springs, Wadsworth and surrounding areas of western Nevada until 2:15 p.m. PDT Thursday.
Radar Indicates Possible Tornado
The National Weather Service issued the warning after Doppler radar indicated rotation capable of producing a tornado.
Pea-sized hail, intense rain and dangerous lightning are also possible with the storm.
More Than 26,000 People Inside Warning Area
Approximately 26,767 people and five schools are located within the warned area, which also includes Patrick and nearby sections of Lyon and Washoe counties.
Residents Urged to Take Shelter Immediately
Residents should move immediately to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
People should remain away from windows and protect their heads from flying debris. Those in mobile homes or vehicles should seek shelter inside a strong building immediately.
