Damaging Winds Up to 85 MPH and Tornadoes Possible Across Midwest
A dangerous line of severe thunderstorms is moving across portions of the Midwest on Tuesday, with the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center warning of damaging winds and the possibility of brief tornadoes.
According to the latest SPC mesoscale discussion, significant wind gusts of 75 to 85 mph may continue as the storm system advances eastward.
The severe weather threat extends across portions of Illinois, Indiana and neighboring areas, with numerous communities potentially affected as the line of storms progresses.
Forecasters also warn that brief tornadoes are possible within the line, adding to the risk from destructive straight-line winds.
Residents across the affected region should closely monitor local warnings and be prepared to seek shelter immediately if a Tornado Warning or Severe Thunderstorm Warning is issued.
