Video.. CENTCOM: U.S. F-35C launches from USS Abraham Lincoln as carrier operates in Arabian Sea

ARABIAN SEA — U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) released footage showing a U.S. Marine Corps F-35C Lightning II stealth fighter launching from the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) as the strike group operates in the Arabian Sea.

In the accompanying statement, CENTCOM said the carrier is supporting U.S. maritime security operations in the region amid heightened tensions involving Iran.

CENTCOM also stated that, as of Aug. 2, U.S. forces have redirected 35 commercial vessels, disabled two vessels, and boarded two others during ongoing operations. The military did not immediately provide additional details about the vessels involved or the specific circumstances surrounding those actions.

The deployment comes as military activity in and around the Arabian Sea and the Strait of Hormuz remains elevated, with regional tensions continuing to affect commercial shipping and maritime security.
