Kenya Power: Widespread power outage affects Nairobi and large parts of Kenya

NAIROBI, Kenya — Kenya Power says a widespread power outage is affecting customers across Nairobi, the Coast region, Mt. Kenya, and parts of the Central Rift, while parts of the North Rift and Western regions remain on supply.

In a customer alert issued at 9:05 p.m. on Wednesday, the utility said its technical teams are working to restore electricity to the affected areas as quickly as possible.

The company apologized for the disruption and thanked customers for their patience as restoration efforts continue. No cause for the outage was immediately provided.
