UK: Passenger dies after being pushed down escalator as police search for woman

Police have launched an urgent appeal after a man was pushed down the escalator at Waterloo Station and later found dead.

Ian Airlie, 48, was found dead at his home in Greenwich on Thursday, 10 October. After his death, his family told police that Ian had reportedly been pushed down Waterloo Station’s Jubilee Line escalator at 5.05pm on Sunday, 15 September.

Mr Airlie is believed to have spoken to security at the station on the day of the incident. He told them that he had fallen into a woman described as of south Asian appearance who also fell on the escalator, who police are now looking to trace. Detectives are also looking to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
