A huge power cut has affected the entire nation of Cuba after the national grid collapsed.
The “unexpected” outage follows a fault at the Antonio Guiteras Thermoelectric Plant, located in Matanzas. It is the third collapse of the National Electric System (SEN) in less than two months.
Cuban citizens have taken to leaving comments on Facebook pages of the state-owned Electric Union (UNE) to express their anger. One wrote: “If we could, we would all leave. This is no life.” Another said: “There is too much suffering for the people of Cuba. They should just resign; this is no way to live.”
