BMW Driver Evades Capture After Pursuit in Orange County, Florida

Authorities searched for a BMW driver who fled a traffic stop and abandoned the vehicle in Orange County, Florida, on Saturday evening.

A Florida Highway Patrol trooper attempted to stop the 2026 BMW M340i after observing reckless driving on State Road 50. The driver crossed the median into heavy, stopped traffic, authorities said.

The pursuit ended after the trooper lost sight of the BMW near State Road 408 and Challenger Way. Officers later found the car disabled and empty on Rouse Road near State Road 408.

Troopers and sheriff’s deputies searched by air and on the ground but did not locate the driver. Units cleared the scene, and the BMW was towed for evidence processing.

The investigation remains active.
