Dry weather could fuel wildfires in the Houston area Friday

Friday’s low humidity could make grass and brush easier to ignite, raising the wildfire danger across parts of the Houston area. Houston has recorded just 1.34 inches of rain so far this month, compared with 5.46 inches in an average October.

The dry spell is also leaving the city well below its typical October cumulative rainfall amounts.
