Criminal – Court affirms 50-year sentence for murder and related charges

Edwards was sentenced to 148 years’ incarceration with 98 years suspended. Those sentences thus exceeded the statutorily authorized range of punishment for the two convictions.

The trial court convicted Edwards of two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery causing death. Edwards is therefore entitled to a new sentencing hearing on his two conspiracy convictions and the sentences related to those convictions only are vacated.
