A Geneva city councilor facing drug charges was arrested Tuesday after failing to appear in court, according to the Ontario County Sheriff's Office.

Arrest and charges

Whitfield remains a member of the Geneva City Council.

Ahmad Whitfield, 46, was taken into custody at the Geneva Police Department on a bench warrant issued Monday after Whitfield failed to appear on charges of second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, the sheriff's office said.
