TxDOT closes two right lanes on Americas South amid flash flood warning

A flash flood warning in El Paso County is creating major traffic problems, including lane closures on a key roadway, as heavy rain continues to move through the area.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Central El Paso County.

The warning includes East El Paso, Far East El Paso, Mission Valley and Socorro, where between 2 and 2.5 inches of rain has already fallen, with more heavy rain possible.

The Texas Department of Transportation reported high water on Americas South before North Loop, with the right two lanes closed.
