UPDATE: Shooting at Tyner Community Center Leaves Multiple Injured During Class Reunion

CHATTANOOGA, TN — July 12, 2025: Several people were injured Saturday afternoon after gunfire broke out during a class reunion event at the Tyner Community Center on Ty Hi Drive.
The Chattanooga Police Department responded to reports of shots fired just after 3:00 PM. Witnesses described a chaotic scene as attendees fled or took cover. “Everybody was just having a good time,” said eyewitness Jeoff Herman. “Then all of a sudden, shots just started going everywhere. Little kids and babies and everything were on the ground. It was bad, real bad.”
Emergency responders transported multiple victims to local hospitals. Their conditions have not yet been released.
Police have not identified a suspect, but officials say there is currently no active threat to the public. Authorities are continuing to secure and process the scene and have asked community members to avoid the area.
The investigation is ongoing, and more details are expected as police work to determine what led up to the shooting.
