Lawrence County homicide suspect arrested after barricading himself inside car

LAWRENCE COUNTY, INDIANA, Ind. / A man wanted in a Lawrence County homicide investigation was arrested Saturday after barricading himself in a vehicle requiring a SWAT response.

According to the Indiana State Police, early Saturday morning, Feb. 24, ISP received a call from Lawrence County dispatchers about a man who was wanted in a homicide investigation. “Multiple” agencies were dispatched to help with the search.

Around 12:33 p.m., an officer with the Paoli Police Department saw the suspect pulling into a Paoli gas station.

When asked by the officer to step out of his vehicle, the man allegedly refused and then barricaded himself inside. Other agencies, including SWAT officers, responded to assist with negotiations.

After several hours, the suspect was eventually taken into custody.
