HOUSTON: Suspect identified in 12-year-old boy’s murder

HOUSTON – Officials have named the suspect they say is responsible for murdering 12-year-old Carlos Fernandez Monday.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez posted on X that the suspect is 27-year-old Terry Bryan Rivera.

Carlos was shot at his family’s Cloverleaf apartment according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said a shooter went up to the young boy’s bedroom window and opened fire where Carlos was sleeping, killing him. Carlos’ two little sisters, his mother and another man were inside, but were not hurt.

“Rivera was in a previous dating relationship with the victim’s mother and had two children with her,” Sheriff Gonzalez revealed.
