M6.0 earthquake hits Japan's Volcano Islands

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 shook the Volcano Islands in Japan at 11:19 am UTC, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said on Monday.

The quake’s epicenter was registered 1,492 kilometers South-southwest of Yaizu city, with a population of 121,000 inhabitants, and 820 km away from Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands. The earthquake hit at a depth of 254 kilometers.
