report of shooting at Omaha South High School in Nebraska

Omaha South High School was placed under lockdown on Monday afternoon “based on a report to local law enforcement.”

A large police presence was visible at the school at about 2:30 p.m.

At 2:45 p.m., a dispatcher with Douglas County 911 said that no victims were transported to the hospital from the school.

The Omaha Police Department said on X, formerly known as Twitter, that students will be evacuated to the football stadium for reunification with parents. Special needs students will be “taken care of with normal bus services,” according to the statement.

“There appears to be no threat at the school,” the statement on X reads. “Students will be released slowly to the football stadium for parent pickup.”
