Waterloo police investigate possible shooting at East Fourth, Mulberry intersection

WATERLOO — The East Fourth and Mulberry streets intersection was taped off by police Saturday afternoon as officers investigated a possible shooting.

Police say one person was transported via ambulance at about 12:50 p.m. to UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital with what were believed to be gunshot wounds. The severity of the injuries were not immediately known.

Waterloo police are investigating a possible shooting around the East Fourth and Mulberry streets intersection.

The person was found outside the ASI Computer Systems and ID8 Workspace building in the 400 block of East Fourth Street as the nearby African American Fest was unfolding in Lincoln Park.

Police say the public is not in any danger at this time. The intersection had been completely closed off as of 1:20 p.m.
