Videos: Mexican troops deploy in Puerto Vallarta after cartel attacks
An AMX-13 VCI (DNC-1) armored vehicle has been deployed by the Mexican army in Aguascalientes, Mexico.

Videos circulating online show Mexican government troops entering Puerto Vallarta following reported cartel attacks, as security forces moved in force through parts of the city.

Footage shared by open-source analysts appears to show a column of military vehicles moving through the southern area of Puerto Vallarta, while a Mexican Naval Aviation UH-60M Black Hawk helicopter provides aerial cover overhead.

The deployments come after reports that cartel violence escalated following the killing of a cartel leader during a joint U.S.–Mexico operation. Authorities have not publicly confirmed the full scope of the operation or provided casualty figures.

Puerto Vallarta, a major tourist destination in the state of Jalisco, has experienced periodic cartel-related unrest in recent years. Officials have urged residents to remain cautious as security operations continue.

The situation remains developing, and further updates are expected from Mexican authorities.
