U.S. Naval Academy Shooting: Midshipman Mistakes Law Enforcement as Threat, Injured Near Bancroft Hall

According to an email from the U.S. Naval Academy’s Deputy Commandant, Capt. David S. Forman, it appears that a Midshipman mistook law enforcement as a threat following reports of a potential active shooter, and engaged, resulting in him being injured in the process. The Midshipman is in stable condition and was likely the one that was seen being medevac’ed earlier from near Bancroft Hall, it is not known where reports by authorities of other injures or gunshots came from or what occurred prior to the shooting involving the injured Midshipman
