Lawrence Shooting Leaves Two Dead
Lawrence shooting leaves two dead and a woman critically injured following a violent incident Thursday evening. The shooting happened just after 8 p.m. in the 1600 block of Haskell Avenue near Edgewood Apartments, according to Lawrence Police.

Police received multiple 911 calls around 8:05 p.m., including reports of a man running through the parking lot firing a weapon.
Upon arrival, officers found three individuals:
- A 21-year-old Lawrence man, dead inside a vehicle from a gunshot wound.
- A 24-year-old Lawrence man, dead nearby from what police believe was a self-inflicted gunshot.
- A 22-year-old Lawrence woman, suffering from critical gunshot injuries.
She was airlifted to a hospital and remains in critical condition.
Investigators say the suspect and the woman had recently ended a relationship. She came home to find him inside. After a confrontation, she fled to a waiting vehicle. The suspect then allegedly shot and killed the man in the vehicle, then shot the woman as she tried to escape. He is believed to have then taken his own life.
The families of those involved have been notified. Police will release names soon.
