Indianapolis Shooting Suspect Critically Injured After Police Chase Near Crown Hill Cemetery – Video

INDIANAPOLIS — July 24, 2025
An Indianapolis shooting suspect is in critical condition after being shot by police following a brief vehicle chase on the city’s near northwest side Thursday morning.
The incident began around 7:20 a.m., when officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) responded to reports of a shooting in the 4800 block of North Ritter Avenue, near East 46th Street and Emerson Avenue. At the scene, police found a woman suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition, authorities said.
IMPD officers quickly gathered information about the suspected shooter and his vehicle, which was then shared with other patrol units.
At approximately 8:15 a.m., IMPD North District officers located the suspect vehicle. A short pursuit followed, during which police said the suspect fired shots at them. The chase ended in the 900 block of West 32nd Street, close to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street and Interstate 65, near Crown Hill Cemetery.
According to an IMPD spokesperson, at least one officer returned fire, striking the suspect. He was transported by medics to a local hospital and remains in critical condition.
No officers were reported injured in the incident.
