Suspected Extremist Arrested in Connection to Conor McGregor Pub Fire
Garda detectives have arrested a man in his 20s in connection with the arson attack on Conor McGregor’s Black Forge Inn pub last month in Dublin. The Conor McGregor pub fire arrest was made following an investigation into the incident that took place early on July 25th, when a small fire broke out at the popular venue on Drimnagh Road, Dublin 12.
The fire was swiftly extinguished by Dublin Fire Brigade, and thankfully, no injuries were reported. The suspect was detained on August 8th by An Garda Síochána’s special detective unit and remains in custody under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984. Garda officials have not released further comments.
Conor McGregor, who purchased the Black Forge Inn in 2020 and invested heavily in renovations, reassured fans via social media that the pub remained open and undamaged. He stated, “You wouldn’t get through it with a rocket launcher. There’s not a bother on her, she’s spotless.”
This incident follows a 2022 attempted petrol bombing of the same premises, which thankfully caused no damage after the bomb failed to detonate.
Authorities continue to investigate the Conor McGregor pub fire, focusing on preventing further attacks and ensuring public safety.
