Columbus, Ohio –

The man accused of shooting two Mifflin Township police officers earlier this week has died by suicide, according to Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #9 President Brian Steel.

As reported by 10TV, the suspect shot himself on Friday evening. Further details have not yet been released. The station noted that it has reached out to the sheriff’s office and other law enforcement agencies for additional information.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office held a press conference Friday night from the scene of another shooting incident in Obetz, which may be connected to 21-year-old Devontae Dixon, the man charged in the previous shooting of the Mifflin officers.

Authorities are expected to provide more updates as the investigation develops.
