BURNSVILLE POLICE RESPOND TO GUNSHOT WOUND AT SOUTHWIND VILLAGE APARTMENTS

At 3:57 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, Burnsville Police Officers responded to a call of a gunshot wound
at the Southwind Village Apartments on the 15200 block of Greenhaven Drive in Burnsville.

Upon arrival, officers assisted a 17-year-old female who had been grazed in the arm by a bullet while she
was sleeping. Initial investigations show the bullet came from a shot fired in a neighboring unit.

The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The man suspected of
firing the gun is in custody. The Burnsville Police Department does not believe there is an ongoing
threat to public safety.

Police departments from the cities of Eagan and Bloomington provided mutual aid on scene.
