Dog killed, 4 cats rescued after fire leaves Hebron home uninhabitable

A single-family home on Walnut Road in Hebron has been deemed uninhabitable following a structure fire late Saturday night, according to the Hebron Fire Department.

Firefighters were dispatched around 10:08 p.m. after a neighbor reported smoke and flames coming from the residence.

Upon arrival, first responders began searching for occupants while working to suppress the blaze. Officials confirmed no people were inside the house at the time.

Crews safely rescued four cats, but one dog was found dead. Eversource was called to secure power to the property as crews battled the flames.
