Police: Suspect identified, at large after chase through Salem

The Salem Police Department has identified the suspect in a police chase Saturday involving a man with multiple felony warrants.

On Saturday, Ford was involved in a pursuit before exiting his vehicle on foot, according to a Salem Police Department social media post.

Officers then lost sight of Ford as he entered a heavily wooded area.

Ford is 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds, and was last seen wearing jeans and boots.

Police state that he may have been wearing a grey “Baird Brothers” sweatshirt.

The department says it has received reports of sightings in the northeast section of Salem.

A dispatcher with the OSHP told 21 News Saturday that the incident happened around 3:15 p.m. on West Main Street.

The department released the identity of 24-year-old Nathaniel Ford on Sunday, citing that he is believed to be unarmed.
