Video: Panama-Flagged Cargo Ship First Margaux Collides With Chinese Fishing Vessel Near Singapore

A dramatic video circulating online shows the Panama-flagged bulk carrier First Margaux colliding with a Chinese fishing vessel near Singapore on Sunday.
The smaller vessel has been identified in maritime tracking records as Lu Qing Yuan Yu 108, a Chinese fishing vessel, while First Margaux is a 229-meter bulk carrier built in 2023.
Footage from the incident shows the vessels converging before the much larger cargo ship strikes the fishing boat, causing it to list heavily in the water.
The circumstances leading to the collision remain under investigation, and authorities have not yet released confirmed information regarding injuries or casualties.
AIS tracking data showed First Margaux remained underway following the incident, suggesting the bulk carrier was able to continue sailing.
