NYPD Releases Photo of Suspect Wanted in Crown Heights Shooting Near New York Carnival Parade

Police have released a photo of a suspect wanted in connection with a Labor Day shooting in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, that left two people injured near the New York Carnival Parade.

The shooting happened at around 4 p.m. near Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue, where police say a woman was shot in the leg and a 19-year-old man was shot in the foot.

Both victims were taken for treatment and were listed in stable condition.

The NYPD is asking anyone who recognizes the suspect to come forward as detectives continue their investigation.

The incident was one of several violent episodes reported in Crown Heights that afternoon near parade festivities. In a separate shooting, another man was wounded near 800 Nostrand Avenue at St. John’s Place.

Earlier in the day, five people were stabbed before the parade began. All five were expected to survive.

Police had deployed extensive security measures for the event following violence associated with previous years’ festivities.
