Motorcyclist killed in Brooklyn neighborhood crash

A motorcyclist was killed Saturday morning in a crash on Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard, Portland police said. Central Precinct officers responded at 6:48 a.m. to a report of a crash at Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard and Southeast 17th Avenue.

Officers found the motorcyclist dead at the scene. Police said an initial investigation indicates the rider was traveling northbound when they collided with a northbound van before striking a pole.

The van’s driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. The Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crash Team responded to investigate.

Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard was closed between Southeast Harold Street and Southeast 17th Avenue during the on-scene investigation, but reopened at about 10 a.m. No arrests have been made, and no citations have been issued. The investigation remains ongoing.
