Marvins Antoine, UMass Dartmouth Football Player, Killed in Providence Stabbing

Marvins Antoine, 18, a freshman football player at UMass Dartmouth, was killed in a stabbing early Saturday in Providence, Rhode Island.
Police said the stabbing happened at around 12:30 a.m. in the Wendy’s parking lot on Charles Street after an altercation connected to a crowded night at nearby Mezzo Lounge.
Antoine suffered stab wounds to the chest and was taken to Rhode Island Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
A 19-year-old UMass Dartmouth teammate was also injured, suffering non-life-threatening wounds to the head and neck.
Police said both victims had been at Mezzo Lounge with other members of the football team before the fight broke out.
A suspect was later identified and was being held by UMass Dartmouth Police as the investigation continued.
Antoine was from Boston and had recently begun his freshman year at UMass Dartmouth.
