DSWD Field Office 12, covering the SOCCSKSARGEN region, distributed cash assistance to victims who are currently receiving treatment in hospitals. The support is intended to help them and their families with some of the expenses brought by the tragic incident.

Aside from financial aid, trained social workers were also deployed to provide Psychological First Aid (PFA) and psychosocial support. These services aim to help victims cope with fear, shock, and the emotional impact of what happened.

The assistance was led by DSWD Field Office 12 Regional Director Loreto Cabaya Jr., together with social workers who stayed with the affected families and victims.

Their role goes beyond providing financial support, as they also listen to the concerns of those affected and help them deal with the difficult situation.

The DSWD reported that three students had been confirmed dead, while authorities were still verifying the number of people injured. The figures may change as officials continue to assess the situation and confirm information from hospitals and other sources.

The shooting has left students, families, teachers, and residents dealing with fear and sadness. With some victims still in hospitals, social workers continue to monitor their condition and identify other needs that may require government assistance.
