Tampa, Florida Fire Rescue responds to hazardous material scene at Port Tampa Bay
A hazardous material response unfolded at Port Tampa Bay Friday evening after reports of a possible tank fire.

Emergency personnel responded to 1015 McCloskey Blvd. around 6:22 p.m. following initial reports of a sulfur tank on fire at Port Tampa Bay.
Arriving firefighters found light smoke but no active flames, working quickly to treat the site.
Fire companies dispatched to Harbour Island and Davis Islands detected no hazardous substances, though a slight sulfur odor remained in the air.
Out of an abundance of caution, officials issued a shelter-in-place notification for residents on Harbour Island while crews mitigated the scene.
Authorities have not yet released details regarding what caused the light smoke or how long the shelter-in-place advisory will remain active.
