Suspect arrested in connection with Aug. 2 shooting on Conley Road

Police took one man from Columbia into custody for his suspected connection with a shooting that occurred last month.
The Columbia Police Department (CPD) arrested 19-year-old Chase Ricketts on Friday in connection with an Aug. 2 shooting that left one man injured.
According to a press release, the shooting occurred around 11:47 a.m. in the 900 block of Conley Road. A 26-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound and taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Ricketts faces pending charges of First-Degree Assault, Armed Criminal Action, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and First-Degree Tampering with Physical Evidence. He was previously arrested in June in connection with a shooting on Clark Lane that left two people injured.
