Man charged in shooting death near busy midtown drug store; shooting happened at nearby business

The Jackson County Prosecutor's Office announced charges in connection with a homicide near a busy midtown drug store last week. Authorities said Ihsan A.

Mahmud has been charged with second-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action in connection with the death of 36-year-old Eric White.

Officers were dispatched to the Walgreens store in the 3800 block of Broadway Boulevard around 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, to investigate a reported shooting.

At the time, police said one person was killed.
