Suspect arrested in Keene, New Hampshire, after long search, police say; shelter-in-place lifted

A man wanted by police in southwestern New Hampshire was arrested Friday morning in Keene.

Arrest and charges

Patrick Allen Boyer, 39, was taken into custody shortly after 9 a.m. outside of a Walmart in Keene.

Police said they had been trying to find Boyer since Wednesday night.

He was seen Thursday afternoon and then led police on a chase between Keene and Stoddard.

Law enforcement officers later found Boyer's car, and he was seen running into a wooded area.

During Thursday's search, a large section of Route 9 was closed across multiple towns for hours. That road reopened around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

State police used helicopters, K-9 units and armored vehicles in their search for Boyer, who was wanted on felony charges and was considered to be armed and dangerous.

Keene police said Boyer stole a pickup truck in the city Friday morning and drove it across town before stopping at the Walmart.
