PA asks for help with measles outbreak if CDC recognizes 4 measles-related deaths: letter

The Pennsylvania Department of Health (DOH) has asked the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for help controlling the ongoing measles outbreak, according to a letter sent to the CDC .

As part of the request, the DOH asked the CDC to "publicly" recognize the measles-related deaths, which it said undermines the department's response.

In the letter, DOH Secretary Debra Bogen cited the importance of respectful, transparent, and factual communication in its collaboration.

"The CDC’s choice not to publicly recognize the deaths undermines our response.
