Shooting Investigation in Conroe, No threat to the Public

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office reported a Shooting Investigation in Conroe on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 9:25 a.m.

At approximately 6:00 a.m. today, a man in his 70’s died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound outside the Lee Alworth Building.

The individual was scheduled to appear in court for sentencing. The Conroe Police Department is actively investigating the incident and are the primary agency on this scene.

There is no threat to the public, and the scene has been secured.
