2nd suspect arrested in fatal July 4 shooting of Cambridge DPW employee

A second suspect is charged with murder in connection with the fatal shooting of a Cambridge Department of Public Works employee early on the morning of July 4.

Giovani Arroyo, 22, of Boston, is charged with murder, carrying a firearm without a license, and conspiracy in connection with the death of Xavier Bautista.

Investigators said Bautista, 32, of Cambridge, was dressed in his work attire when he left his home around 4 a.m.

Bautista was found around 5:24 a.m., lying in a pool of blood near the intersection of Norfolk Street and Broadway by pedestrians who called police.
