Histories: Man was charged with attempted murder in 1997 for shooting at vehicles on I-90

Formal charges in a series of sniper shootings along I-90 are expected against Christopher Ray Buckham of Gillette.

Buckham, 20, a convicted felon described by Montana law enforcement agents as a police and gun buff has been in the Crook County jail.

He faces charges in both Crook and Campbell counties for allegedly taking potshots at at least four vehicles along Interstate 90.

In one shooting, a 53-year-old Minnesota man was slightly hurt when he was struck by a small-caliber bullet that passed through his seat; no other injuries were reported.
