17-Year-Old Charged in Fatal Shooting at Anderson Night Club

A 17-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a shooting that left a man dead earlier this month in Anderson.

On Monday in Madison County, Jovonte Day-Jahn Larry, of Noblesville, was officially charged with murder and dangerous possession of a firearm in the shooting death of 31-year-old Tomerious T.

Smoots. The fatal shooting happened on Sept. 6 in the 1600 block of Madison Avenue.

At around 2 a.m., Anderson police were called to the Sonny Ray’s nightclub on a report of shots fired.
